The British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, jointly with the Donetsk Chamber of Commerce, organized the first John Hughes Memorial Dinner to commemorate the life of John Hughes, the British founder of Donetsk. The dinner was held in Donetsk at the Hughes Brewery, a micro-brewery and restaurant that makes Hughes beer, gathering together over 170 Ukrainian and British businessmen, diplomats and officials, including about 70 members of the British-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce from Kyiv.

The BUCC’s key objectives are to bring together British companies and individuals wishing to focus on the Ukrainian market, and to offer assistance to Ukrainian companies and individuals wishing to establish business, commercial and trade relationships in the United Kingdom. Most British companies know very little about doing business in Ukraine, and many Ukrainian companies know of opportunities in the UK but do not know how to access them.
